JEGS 80006 Professional 2-Ton Low Profile Aluminum Floor Jack

LIFTING CAPACITY: 2 tons (4,000 pounds)

WEIGHT: 49 pounds

LIFTING RANGE: 3-1/2″ to 19-1/4″

BODY DESIGN: The JEGS 80006 floor jack design is inspired by Sprint Cup’s lightweight pit jacks.  Although its manufactured in China out of high quality aluminum, the fit and finish is top notch. The chassis is 26-1/2″ long and 14-0″ wide with fixed front wheels and rear caster style wheels. The side plates of the jack are tapered from back to front giving the front of the floor jack a very low profile. The highest point of the frame (near the handle and hydraulic assembly) is about 6″ off the ground. The saddle is padded using a rubber disc and can be rotated 360 degrees. There are two side grip handles for easy floor jack positioning and carrying.

LIFTING AND LOWERING SYSTEM DESIGN: The JEGS 80006 floor jack reaches full lift height with only 5-6 full handle strokes. The hydraulic valve is opened and closed by twisting the removable two-piece handle. The lower portion of the handle is padded to avoid damaging the vehicle if contact is made while lifting. The upper portion of the handle has a knurled grip to lessen the likelihood of slippage.

PROS

  • Raises to full height in 5-6 full strokes
  • Low profile body design

Hein-Werner HW93642 – 2 Ton Floor Jack (Made in the USA)

Made in the USA - Hein Werber 2 Ton Floor Jack

LIFTING CAPACITY: 2 tons (4,000 pounds)

WEIGHT: 99 pounds (45 kilograms)

LIFTING RANGE: 3-3/4″ to 20-0″

BODY DESIGN: This “Made In the USA”  jack is what you think of when you think of a “classic” floor jack. It is fully constructed out of steel which gives it plenty of strength to handle its rated 2 ton lifting capacity. The body side plates are flanged to reduce flexing and increase rigidity. The jack is not considered a low profile jack, but having a 3-3/4″ minimum lift height is nothing to be ashamed of. The saddle doesn’t have any padding and shaped like a square with rounded corners. It has notches on all four sides so that the lifting points of the vehicle don’t slip off. The rear casters swivel 360 degrees to allow for easy rolling and positioning. If you have to carry this jack around, the easiest way to do so is by removing the lifting pole and carrying it by the front axle.

LIFTING AND LOWERING SYSTEM DESIGN – The removable one-piece lifting pole is extremely rigid made out of steel. The single hydraulic piston is sealed so that dirt or other debris doesn’t damage the seals or contaminate the hydraulic fluid. This is not a quick lifting jack. The disadvantage is that it will take you many strokes of the lifting pole to reach maximum height. The advantage is that the effort require to operate the lifting pole is very small. Like the majority of floor jacks, the hydraulic valve is closed and opened by turning the the lifting pole clockwise and counter-clockwise respectively. The nice thing about this jack is that it uses a universal joint in between the lifting pole socket and the hydraulic valve making it very easy to operate the hydraulic valve in a precise manner. This jack has a safety overload valve that wont allow it to lift loads higher than its rated capacity.

PROS

  • Made in the USA
  • Solid steel construction with flanged side plates
  • Respectable minimum lift height
  • Universal joint for precise hydraulic valve control

CONS

  • Heavy
  • No padding on the saddle
  • One piece lifting pole makes it hard to work in tight spaces
  • Lifting pole is not easily removed requiring the loosening of a 14mm bolt
