Best Aluminum Jack: ALJ3T – 3 Ton Floor Jack

Arcan ALJ3T Aluminum Floor Jack - 3 Ton Capacity

LIFTING CAPACITY: 3 tons (6,000 pounds)

WEIGHT: 56 pounds (25.4 kilograms)

LIFTING RANGE: 3-3/4″ to 18-1/8″

body DESIGN: Don’t be fooled by the beautiful design, this floor jack is no beauty queen. Its low profile design allows it to fit under just about any vehicle, but still has a maximum lifting height higher than or equal to some its regular profile competition. Even though is is constructed out of nearly 100% aluminum it has thick frame side plates and a reinforced lifting arm that allows it to safely lift up to 3 tons (6,000 pounds). The lifting pole is a two-piece design and is made out of aluminum. It snaps together with a quick-lock button press system. Only the bottom half of the lifting pole is padded and the pole tends to flex slightly when been used. The saddle has a soft rubber pad which won’t damage the underside of your vehicle, but gets torn up fairly easily. The rear casters have ball bearings which allows them to swivel very easily. There are two handles on the side that allow the jack to be easily carried around. The presence or both a bypass and overload valve prevents over-extension of hydraulic ram and jack use beyond rated capacity. This jack complies with 2009 ASME PALD Standard.

LIFTING AND LOWERING SYSTEM: The lifting system has a dual piston design allowing for relatively quick and effortless lifting. This is not a super-fast lifting system. It takes about 12 full stokes to go from fully lower to fully raised, but the effort required on the lifting pole is much less than most jacks that fully raise in four to five strokes.  The hydraulic release allows the load to be lowered slowly and in a very controlled manner.
